Philly Tech Week 2019 Kickoff Festival – Friday, May 3
Looking for something to do after work or school on Friday? From 5 to 10 p.m., Linode on Arch Street will be holding the week’s kickoff festival. This event is free and open to anyone. Technologists and families alike can enjoy Philly Tech Week blended with First Friday festivities with art, games, local food, and a weeklong Tech Week scavenger hunt! Growing Your Business with Google – Tuesday, May 7
Momentum Digital has partnered with Technical.ly Philly to bring us this talk and networking event designed for small businesses! Growing Your Business with Google will teach small business owners how to gain leads and customers through Google. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. and costs $25 (this includes food and drink). Dev Conference: Presented by Technical.ly – Wednesday, May 8
If you’re a dev person, then this conference is for you. This is an all day conference featuring 12 speakers in three different rooms, each with an individual industry focus. The Leaders Room will feature talks on industry best practices, creating products, and Amazon Web Services. The Innovators Room will have topics on advanced analytics and artificial intelligence. Building Diverse Tech Teams: An Evening of Lightning Talks – Thursday, May 9
This two-hour event will feature five speakers giving short “lightning” talks, and afterward, there will be a Q&A with the speakers. Chicktech Philly designed this event to focus on how and why to hire and retain diverse technical talent. The event starts at 5 p.m. and costs $10. Not only will this event be important for the future of inclusivity in tech, it will also benefit a good cause. All of the proceeds go toward funding Chicktech Philly’s high school program to provide local girls with supplies, transportation, and workshops! Register here.
2019 Philadelphia Federal Credit Union Kensington Derby & Arts Festival – Saturday, May 11
Close out an awesome week by attending this derby and arts festival! The festival is in its 13th year and celebrates human-powered transit, neighborhood artists, and local businesses in Kensington. There will be sculptures, artists selling their work, and food vendors. The best part is the event is free and family-friendly.
